  why did you study communication?

T.A. ~ I studied communication because it is at the center of all business and professional interactions.

B.J. ~ Unlike most of my students, I really do like to be out front, performing. I worked a year between high school and college to start my radio career, hosting a daily country music show on the radio, and I just planned to work in radio forever.

  why is your chapter important?

T.A. ~ There is nothing more important than audience analysis. It is the very first thing you should do. Without doing a proper "read" of who you are addressing, you fail to understand what your target is.

B.J. ~ The audience should be the focus for all communication, from topic choice to speech construction to performance.

What punctuation mark best describes your personality? Why?
I am the semi-colon. Why? I am always trying to conjoin two distinct concepts into one unique concept. I am an apostrophe. I connect undecided students to mass media internships. I connect resistant students to new academic material. I connect music. I connect people. Others would take more steps and more time, but I use an abbreviated style.
Who would you like to play you if your life story was made into a movie?
  Bruce Willis Jenna Elfman
If you were to return to school to study a different subject, what subject would you study? Why?
I would get an Executive MBA in international business, after getting a Bachelors in Chinese or Russian. Would you be wiling to have one of your fingers surgically removed if it somehow guaranteed immunity from all major illnesses? Why or why not?

No, because I need all of my fingers for typing and music. That being said, I might give up a toe.
